PAN-Aadhaar linking: Know the way to pay penalty


Have you ever linked your PAN with the Aadhaar card? Taxpayers not linking PAN with Aadhaar can be required to pay a penalty ranging from ₹500 to ₹1,000, in accordance to the earnings tax division.

The newest tweet by the Revenue Tax Division acknowledged {that a} demographic mismatch might happen whereas linking PAN with Aadhaar.

“To additional facilitate clean linking of PAN & Aadhaar, in case of any demographic mismatch, biometric-based authentication has been supplied and may be availed of at devoted facilities of PAN Service Suppliers (Protean & UTIITSL),” I-T stated.

Steps to pay penalty:

  • Step 1: Head to the Revenue Tax e-Submitting portal and click on on the e-Pay Tax choice.
  • Step 2: Enter the PAN details and proceed.
  • Step 3: After OTP verification, click on on the proceed button beneath the earnings tax head.
  • Step 4: Choose Evaluation 12 months as ‘2023-24’ and ‘Sort of Fee (Minor Head)’ as ‘Different Receipts (500)’ and click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  • Step 5: Proceed to pay the pre-filled quantity towards the ‘others’ choice.
